What’s a better way to kick off your summer vacation then to visit the happiest place on earth? This is the perfect outing for the whole family. Spend some quality time with your kids’ at the most adventurous theme park in Southern California. Summer is the perfect season to visit Disneyland because of the opening debut of new rides and attractions, extended hours, and firework shows. This summer there will be a series of Limited Time Magic events which include the Long Lost Friends Week, Pirate Week, and Unleash the Villain Week. Although Disneyland could get pretty busy during the summer, the extended summer hours help to minimize the long lines and wait time for the rides. Since kids will be out of school, families are able to go during the week and avoid long lines. Not to mention, many high schools will get a chance to visit Disneyland during grad night. For many high school seniors, this is the ideal location to have grad night because of the many thrilling rides, parades, and shows you’ll be able to enjoy with your fellow classmates. If you haven’t yet visited California Adventure, then summer is the perfect time to go with your family and friends. Here are two recently added attractions that you may want to visit during your next visit to Disneyland® Resort and California Adventure:
Meet ‘Monsters’ at the Pixar Play Parade
Joining the Pixar Play Parade is Mike and Sulley from the Disney Pixar film, Monsters University. Mike and Sulley will be joining in the parade along with original characters from other Pixar movies like The Incredibles, Finding Nemo, Ratatouille, Toy Story, and A Bug’s Life. Mike and Sulley will make daily appearances at the Pixar Parade. If you miss them at the parade, don’t worry you’ll have another chance to see them outside of the university dorms in Hollywood Land at California Adventure. Although it will be summer vacation for most of us, Monsters University will be in session all through summer. To get the best view of the Pixar Play Parade, make sure to position yourself at Hollywood Land, Paradise Pier or Pacific Wharf. This parade will include live musical and dance performances as well as beautifully decorated floats.
Mickey and the Magical Map
For some magical entertainment filled with imagination and creativity then make sure to visit Mickey and the Magical map. This live performance recently opened in May and has been popular among park visitors. This show will take you on a journey into the renovated Fantasyland Theatre into the mysterious world of the sorcerer’s map. Mickey and his fellow Disney characters will be your guide through this fun-filled adventure.
