Disneyland® is currently celebrating the 60th anniversary of Walt Disney’s original theme park in Anaheim and The Diamond Celebration is will end September 5, 2016. If you haven’t seen it already, you need to see it Labor Day weekend before it ends. The Diamond Celebration’s explosive fireworks and lively parades will give you memories that will last a lifetime. Hurry and visit before it ends!

There are also lots of FREE activities for the family! You can celebrate Labor Day with a Concert in the Park at Lantern Bay Park in Dana Point. The 5th Marine Regiment Support Group will be selling food and drinks to raise funds for the Marines abroad. Admission is FREE and the fun will begin at 1 pm and end at 4:30 pm. September 5th at 5 pm, there is also another Concert in the Park in Huntington Beach at the Annual Huntington Beach Summer Concert Series. An internationally acclaimed orchestra, Henebry’s 1920’s Crazy Rhythm Hot Society Orchestra, will feature authentic recreations of the famous big bands of the Swing era. Bring chairs and blankets and enjoy a picnic dinner – admission is FREE.

Also in Huntington Beach Sept. 4-5 is Huntington Beach Historical Society’s Civil War Days, featuring live weapons demonstrations, living histories and battle reenactments. All refreshment proceeds benefit the Huntington Beach Historical Society. The fun starts at 8 am and admission is FREE.

For a more lively celebration, visit Oktoberfest at Old World Village in Huntington Beach every Wednesday-Sunday, starting Sept. 5 and ending Oct. 31. The 34th annual event includes German bands, dancing and tasty German foods from bratwürst with potato salad to apple strudel. See folks dressed up in lederhosen and learn all kinds of fun dances with good food and drinks.

Another great place to eat good food and have fun with the family on Labor Day weekend is at the Orange International Street Fair located at Old Towne Orange Plaza in Orange. The Fair is an Orange County tradition that allows local groups of various cultures to celebrate with community and raise money. Food and entertainment from German, Irish, English, Polynesian, American, Greek, and Mexican groups will delight and entertain you! Each ethnicity group provides food, entertainment, and crafts to guests. Hours: 5-10 p.m. Sept. 3; 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Sept. 4-5. There is no entrance fee; however Ethnic Street, Arts and Crafts, and Children’s Street may have participation fees.
