Holiday Joy in Anaheim

November 5, 2013

There is a good reason that the Disneyland Resort is known as the ‘happiest place on earth’ and at Christmas-time, the joy spreads even further. From November 12th onwards, the holiday season commences at Disneyland Resort with special entertainment and attractions full of the festive spirit, set to delight all who enter this magical place. All across the park, seasonal experiences are laid out for visitors: Main Street USA, Buena Vista Street and Cars Land are all covered in ornaments and decorations for the holiday period, with hidden Christmas treasures waiting to be discovered by those in hotels close to Disneyland CA. Right until the 6th of January, the park is transformed into an amazing winter wonderland.

In Cars Land, all of the wheeled residents who live in Radiator Springs have decorated their homes in their handmade pieces – including the ‘snow car’ they made together! Elsewhere the bugs of Disney California Adventure Park are ready to show guests their own unique celebrations, while on the Buena Vista Street guests are able to experience the family magic of Christmas in an era long ago, immersed in the atmosphere of the holiday season.

Main Street USA, though, is the real centerpiece to the Christmas decorations. The center of the park and Walt Disney’s own design, the street is turned into the perfect picture of winter. A 60ft high Christmas tree covered in more than 70,000 sparkling lights and around two thousand ornaments custom designed for this special tree sits in pride of place, surrounded by garlands and wreaths across the rest of the street. Everywhere guests look, a different holiday sight will be waiting – including the Main Street Carolers who will be singing the classic carols to an accompaniment of hand-bells.

Behind all of this, Sleeping Beauty’s castle is transformed into a winter palace, the perfect setting for the amazing Believe In Magic Firework Display. Bedecked with icicles and with its towers covered in snow, the Castle looks amazing in winter. Its 80,000 lights sparkle as snow falls over the Main Street and surrounding area, creating the most perfect holiday atmosphere that could ever be wished for.
