If you don’t know what the OC Restaurant week is, here’s all you need to know. For an entire week, hundreds of restaurants throughout the OC will offer guests a special discounted prix fixe menu for lunch and dinner. For each price fixed menu, you get an appetizer, entrée, and dessert – all you have to do is select one item from each category. From the dinner menu, for an appetizer you can choose Gumbo Ya-ya, salad, or Louisiana Pork wings. For the entrée choose from pasta jambalaya, blackened mahi-mahi, or smothered New York steak topped with mushrooms, caramelized onions and more. For dessert, choose from double chocolate bread pudding, beignets, or Baily’s Crème brulee. You got all this for just $40!

If you are instead looking for more of a romantic setting that’s still in the Downtown Disney area, consider going to Steakhouse 55. The dinner menu is $50 and for an appetizer you can choose hearts of romaine, chilled tiger prawns, or creamy onion soup. For your entrée choose from grilled petite filet mignon, slow roasted prime rib, pan roasted double breast of chicken, or fava bean and rye crusted king salmon. Enjoy the magic of Cinderella at Disney California Adventure

Have you heard the news? Disney has decided to create a live action movie of the classic film Cinderella. The original animated masterpiece was released in the 1950s and Cinderella has remained one of the Disney princesses that children know and love. Now, for the first time, Disney will be releasing a live action version of the movie. Fans of the original will now be able to see real, live people play the roles of their favorite characters such as Cinderella, Prince Charming, the evil stepsisters, and the fairy godmother. Despite the fact that the movie will not be animated, you can still expect all the magic that viewers have come to know and love when it comes to Disney. The live action version of Cinderella will hit theaters on March 13th of this year. And now, for a limited time if you go to Disneyland California Adventure Park you will be able to see an exclusive sneak peek of the movie! While in California Adventure from January 30th through March 26th you’ll be able to join in on the fun! Simply head over to the Bug’s Life Theater, located inside California Adventure Park and watch the extended sneak preview of the film.

Disney’s live action version of their classic film Cinderella has been cast with both newcomers and stars that have graced the silver screen many times before. The star of the movie, the leading lady that will play Cinderella is the perhaps relatively unknown actress Lily James. She did not make her debut in the acting world until 2010 and although she has had minor roles in a few films, she is probably most known for her role in “Downton Abbey”. Another newcomer, Richard Madden is playing Prince Charming, though “Game of Thrones” fans will easily recognize him as Robb Stark. Helena Bonham Carter, known for her many roles in movies such as Fight Club, Les Miserables, Harry Potter and the deathly Hollows and many others will be playing the role of the Fairy Godmother. Cate Blanchett, another veteran to the acting world, will be playing Lady Tremaine, Cinderella’s evil stepmother.

China’s History Comes Alive at Orange County’s Bowers Museum

The Bowers Museum in Anaheim has been putting on a number of exhibits on some of the world’s most important treasures. In it’s latest installment, the museum focuses on China’s Lost Civilization: The Mystery of Sanxingdui. The archaeological find that occurred within the last 25 years has been termed “the ninth wonder of the world” and many scholars have even referred to it as one of the world’s greatest archaeological finds. When staying in Anaheim bring the whole family down and learn more about the forgotten culture of Sanxingdui! This exhibit will be on display at the Bowers Museum until March 2015 where it will then move on to the Museum of Natural Science in Houston, Texas.

Back in 1986, construction workers at Sanxingdui accidentally stumbled upon a huge treasure trove filled with weapons, burned animal bones, 200 ancient jades, monumental bronzes, over 60 elephant tusks and even a life-sized statue of a nobleman. The discovery shattered previously held notions about Chinese history. This is because before this discovery, it was widely believed that around 1200 BC, the cradle of Chinese civilization was actually 745 miles north of Sanxingdui in the central plain region of China. Since the objects found in Sanxingdui also date back to this same time period, it means that there was another civilization in existence, which no one even knew existed! As archaeologists began to explore the remains further, they found that what was unearthed proves that the people at Sanxingdui were a sophisticated culture that had an excellent understanding of forging bronze objects shown through the number of bronze artifacts that were found from masks to weapons. What makes this lost culture a mystery is that no written records or human remains have been unearthed yet. It appears as though this sophisticated culture existed for only about 350 years before vanishing without a trace. Come visit the Bowers Museum in Anaheim in order to find out more about this lost culture and gaze upon artifacts that have been buried for thousands of years!

Visit the Bowers Museum and see the Mystery of Sanxingdui exhibit and experience Chinese Culture first hand!
